About us

The National ID is a government service that provides the unique legal national digital identity for citizens and residents of Samoa. By law, this service is administered by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics, under the oversight, guidance and quality assurance of the National ID Advisory Board, ensuring that advancements in national digital identity comply with the Act.

To address the urgent need for a National ID, the Cabinet has established a Special Committee consisting of three ministers and nine members to facilitate its swift implementation - the National ID Advisory Board will take over once operational.

Through the national policy, we strive for a Samoa where everyone can be seen, served and supported while protecting people's rights - connecting them to the services they need.

By linking biometric authentication directly to your birth certificate, we are dedicated to providing a secure and unique digital identity that allows you to easily verify yourself and ensures you receive the services and benefits you are entitled to.
