The National ID is a government service that provides the unique legal national digital identity for citizens and residents of Samoa. By law, this service is administered by the Samoa Bureau of Statistics, under the oversight, guidance and quality assurance of the National ID Advisory Board, ensuring that advancements in national digital identity comply with the Act.
To address the urgent need for a National ID, the Cabinet has established a Special Committee consisting of three ministers and nine members to facilitate its swift implementation – the National ID Advisory Board will take over once operational.
