Introduction
Samoa has a long history of conducting agricultural censuses every ten years (1989, 1999, 2009, and 2019) and surveys undertaken in between (2005, 2015, and 2025).

The SAS collects information on:

- Fisheries
- Forestry & Floriculture
- Equipment
- Labour
- Support & Income
- Environment
- Food Security
Coverage
- • Sample: Approximately 3,500 households.
- • Survey – only the selected households.
- • Enumeration: 8 weeks
Objectives of the survey
- Update key data to reflect current practices in crop, livestock, and fisheries production.
- Provide evidence to guide sectoral planning, national development, and policymaking.
- Monitor progress toward national, regional, and global development goals.

Any information obtained during this survey will be kept strictly confidential as specified under the “Statistics Act 2015” and will not be released in any form that will identify your household.
