DHS-MICS 2025 Report officially launched

    SAMOA BUREAU OF STATISTICS LAUNCHES DEMOGRAPHIC AND HEALTH- MULTIPLE INDICATOR CLUSTER SURVEY (DHS-MICS) 2025 REPORT

    Today, 8 October 2026, the Samoa Bureau of Statistics (SBS) marked another important milestone in strengthening the availability of quality data for evidence-based planning and decision-making, with the official launch of the Demographic and Health-Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (DHS-MICS) 2025 Report.

    The Government Statistician, Afioga Leota Aliielua Salani, welcomed and thanked all participants for joining the launch event held at the Tanoa Tusitala Conference Room.

    The programme commenced with an opening prayer and words of encouragement delivered by Reverend Peni Meaalofa of Faleapuna EFKS Church.

    The programme also included a keynote address by SBS Associate Minister, Afioga Tilafono David Hunter, remarks from His Excellency Mr. Will Robinson, Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, and Ms. Karla Robin Hershey, UN Resident Coordinator for Samoa; and a presentation of key survey findings by the ACEO of the Census, Survey and Demography Statistics Division, Afioga Taiaopo Faumuina.

    The event concluded with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon, officially launching the DHS-MICS 2025 Report and commencing its dissemination to stakeholders.

    SBS acknowledges and appreciates the continued support and collaboration of all stakeholders and partners who contributed to the successful completion of this important survey.
