PHC Stakeholders Consultation underway for the 2026 PHC

Samoa Bureau of Statistics (SBS) Population and Housing Census (PHC) Stakeholders Consultation underway for the 2026 PHC

The Samoa Bureau of Statistics through its Census, Demography and Survey Statistics Division conducted its 3 days Stakeholders consultation from the 11th -13th of August 2026 at the NPF Conference Room, Level 3. The main objective of this consultation is for all 14 Sectors of Government to present and identify their priority data needs to make good use of this opportunity to have some of their data needs collected from our Population and Housing Census scheduled to roll out this year from October to November 2026.

The consultation had brought together sector coordinators or representatives from sector coordination units of our 14 Sectors together with their implementing Partners. It was an important platform to engage with our stakeholders and understand their priority needs and give them direction of how we can assist them.

We would like to acknowledge the stakeholders contribution in making our consultation a success because their valuable contribution will help us to ensure that the 2026 Population and Housing Census collects relevant, timely and quality data to support evidence-based planning, policymaking, decision making, service delivery, monitoring and Samoa’s national development priorities.

To conclude, we would also like to sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the active participation of all sectors and stakeholders throughout the 3 day consultation.
